What’s going on: The library needs your help! We want feedback on the materials we offer in the form of a book review. These reviews will be posted in the teen area and on the website. They will not have your exact name on them; rather, they will have your pen-name, so it is an excellent opportunity to test out that stylish writery flair you’ve been hiding. Feel free to be as serious or silly as you want, just make sure to follow the rules!
Requirements for a submission into the drawing:
A written opinion of the material selected should be around 250 words. The opinion should not have spoilers, instead you want to entice or potentially warn the reader about the book.
This is not a book summary. Summaries will be disqualified!
Grammar, spelling, and use of language are important. While this is for fun, it is also going to be placed on the website for the community to see. Creative use of language is permitted and encouraged.
Vulgarity and insensitivity are not.
Each complete and accepted review will count as an entry.
Examples of reviews:
Why? For many reasons!
- Your feedback regarding materials the library purchases is important!
- Writing a brief review without spoiling the story can be challenging and great practice for short answer exams, resumes, and marketing.
- Ever read a book and not have anyone to talk to about it? It is the worst! Help advertise the quality books Milford Library has and help guide patrons to exciting new literature!
What’s in it for you?
- Did we mention your successful submission would be entered in a monthly drawing for a gift card?
Drawings will be completed each month. They may be submitted at the youth desk.
Forms may be found here or in the teen section of the Milford Public Library website.
The first drawing starts at the end of February.
